The Southeast Valley is comprised of four cities, generally speaking: Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert. Each of these cities has its own distinct flavor. Nearby Mesa, the third largest city in Arizona, has a unique historical background which is reflected in its diverse community. This city is home to over a hundred distinct neighborhoods, including Dobson Ranch, Boulder Mountain, Glenwood Park, Las Sendas, Red Mountain Ranch, Sky Mountain Estates, Thunder Mountain and Whisper Mountain. Chandler is also home to several festivals such as the Ostrich Festival and the Chandler ArtWalk, as well as Rawhide Western Town. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy popular parks such as Tumbleweed Park and Desert Breeze Park, as well as the Koli Equestrian Center and the Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center. The Southeast Valley is also home to Chandler’s neighbor, Gilbert. This city has a more rural charm, with its agricultural beginnings in the forefront.
